Ten Unbeaten College Football Teams That Still Remain Mysteries
There are some mystery teams on the list of unbeaten college football teams. Some of these teams include Alabama, Florida, Nebraska, and Indiana. Others are still a mystery. Here are a few of them. Is it possible for one of these teams to beat another? Read on to learn more.
Cincinnati is one of the few unbeaten teams in college football, but the team’s fate is still uncertain. After losing to Arkansas in the season opener, Cincinnati has won three straight games. But the margin for error is razor-thin, and they need to look dominant to win. However, in recent weeks, they have failed to look dominant. They have narrowly escaped defeats by Navy and Tulsa, and they were sloppy in their last game against South Florida.
After three weeks, the unbeaten teams of the Big Ten and Pac-12 are down to 13 teams. Oklahoma and Penn State are the only unbeatens to fall to ranked teams. Indiana, however, was able to beat Georgia and Alabama. Three of the Big Ten’s teams are still undefeated, while two remain in the ACC. Tulane has yet to lose a game, and there is still some mystery surrounding the team’s undefeated status.
When it comes to college football, one team can turn a season around quickly. Nebraska’s turnaround last season was no exception. After a disappointing 0-6 start to the season in its new conference, the Huskers soon rose to the top. The Huskers were not considered the Big Ten’s big dogs when they won the Legends Division title. They were unable to face Ohio State, Penn State, or Wisconsin in their conference opener. However, the Huskers did win the Big Ten Championship, and since that game, they have spent four weeks in the top 10.
There are a few teams that have gone unbeaten in college football this year, and it is difficult to figure out which ones are truly the best. Arizona is an example. The Wildcats jumped into the top-10 last week with a win against Florida, but have since lost to both Florida State and Utah. Texas A&M is ranked high and plays Arkansas on the road next week, but neither team has beaten a power five team yet.
It’s not hard to see how Clemson could be one of the top four teams in the ACC despite having just one loss. However, the team’s win over Louisville and Florida State won’t help it in its quest to become the conference champion. Nor will Clemson’s win over Pittsburgh on Nov. 12 boost it to the top four.
San Diego State
San Diego State is one of the few college football programs that remains undefeated, but why? In 2015, the Aztecs went 11-3 and ended the year with a 42-7 win over Cincinnati. The team’s success was due in part to a change in coach. Don Coryell, who took over as head coach in 1961, led the Aztecs to two straight undefeated seasons. During his tenure, the Aztecs went from the College Division to the University Division, which is now NCAA Division I, FBS, and FCS. The Aztecs also became a charter member of the Pacific Coast Conference, which was formed in 1969 and includes the Big West Conference.
