The Best Nintendo 64 Games

The Nintendo System 64 is a classic console that has lasted the test of time. Whether you want to play Donkey Kong 64 or Banjo-Tooie, the choices are endless. There’s also the Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, Yoshi’s Story, and many other classics. There are a few issues with emulated Nintendo 64 games. The layout of the controller is not easy to reproduce on a traditional controller, but it can be overcome by purchasing the Switch’s special Nintendo 64-style controller. However, this controller is limited-edition and will cost you more than $50 in the secondary market.

Donkey Kong 64

Unlike its predecessors, Donkey Kong 64 is a single-player platformer. The game includes a number of challenges and collectibles that can be found throughout the game, including various weapons, coins, and fruits. The game received universal acclaim, becoming Nintendo’s best-selling title during the 1999 holiday season. It sold 2.3 million copies by 2004, and won several awards from gaming magazines. Despite its success, the game has faced a variety of criticism, most notably for the camera controls and the heavy focus on backtracking.

Donkey Kong 64 is an excellent example of the collectible genre, combining elements of action and puzzle-solving. The main goal of the game is to collect 200 golden bananas, which can be found throughout the game’s various levels. The levels vary in difficulty, from underwater to jungle and industrial. Donkey Kong 64 features several multipart puzzles and obstacles that challenge players to solve puzzles and complete levels.

Banjo-Tooie

While the Nintendo 64 version of the first Banjo-Tooie game does not feature time travel, it does have five stages, which is a significant addition. The original game featured a dinosaur world, while Banjo-Tooie 2 adds a new world, which is a fire/ice hybrid. This game also features new bosses and puzzles. It is worth noting that the game’s bosses are more dramatic in Banjo-Tooie 2 than in the original.

The original game used three pieces of music from Banjo-Kazooie, but Banjo-Tooie only uses the beginning of one piece. The music fades out to the title screen before the “Game Over” segment begins. However, the full version of the Game Over theme is audible in the “Game Over” screen of Banjo-Tooie. Despite the game’s similarity to its predecessor, Banjo-Tooie lacks some of the game’s more recognizable elements, such as the Note Doors and Jiggys.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask

The Legend of Zelda: Majora”s Mask is a 2000 action adventure video game. Nintendo developed and published the game. The game’s story is centered on the adventures of the titular hero, Link. Link and his companions must travel across the lands and collect items to save the princesses. The game was also released for the Nintendo 64. The game received positive reviews from many gamers.

Originally released in 2000 for the Nintendo 64, the game is the sequel to the wildly successful Ocarina of Time. It features the same engine, visual style, and interface as its predecessor, but is much more focused on the NPCs Link meets. The game also features optional quests, mini-games, and a variety of items. For gamers who enjoyed the original, the sequel is a great choice.

Yoshi’s Story

Yoshi’s Story is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. The game was initially released in Japan and then worldwide in 1998. The game was re-released for the Wii in October 2007 and in early 2016 on the Virtual Console service. It has become an enduring favorite among Nintendo fans, and has since received several re-releases in recent years.

The game has very sensitive movement, and Yoshi’s generous flutter jump will correct any mistakes you make. But because the game is so easy to beat, you’ll have to replay it several times to get everything. Also, the game’s audio is one of the worst on the N64. The game’s audio is so cheesy that it doesn’t provide much challenge or depth.v
